I have moved my
affiliation (and Home Page)
to the ASAP Research Group,
at the University of Nottingham,
UK, from October 2006. The only active link to my previous page is the
"Classes" link, since it may still be useful for some students and
lecturers (notice that the content is in Spanish).
I worked at the Department of Computer Science, Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas,
Venezuela for 10 years, from Sept. 1996 until Sept. 2006. During this
time I was involved in research and teaching, and participated in the
creation of a research group: "Computacion
en Medicina y Biologia" (Computing
in Medicine and Biology). From October 1997 until March 2001 I
was at the University of Sussex, UK pursuing my PhD studies in
the Evolutionary and
Adaptive Systems (EASy) Group. I returned to the UK on
October 2006 as a research associate in the ASAP Research Group,
University of Nottingham.
My research interests include heuristic search and
optimisation methods,
both in their foundations and applications to challenging real-life
problems.
